The Student Development Coordinator plays a key role in leading, shaping and managing the College’s strategic direction by developing practices in the following areas:
Learning and Teaching
Development of self and others
Leading improvement, innovation and change
Administration and operational management
Engaging and working with the community
THE POSITION
Within the Student Development Coordinator (SDC) team, four coordinators are linked to College Houses whilst the fifth coordinator operates in a cross-house capacity. This cross-house SDC is an integral part of the team both in the operation of and coordination in events, pastoral care and budget management. Working in collaboration with house allocated SDC’s the primary purpose of the position is to support a student development culture that fosters:
Coordinator and planning of relevant Student Development events
Financial budget management for the Student Development team
Manage student referrals and actions via the Student Support Services Team
Actively drive and implement all Student Development initiatives and programs
Positive education and a growth mindset
Wellness for learning
Awareness of all aspects of student development
Partnerships between school and home
Achievement and capacity unique to all students
ABOUT YOU
In addition to being able to lead the Key Initial Priorities indicated in the position description, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate sound responses to the following selection criteria:
Essential:
Tertiary qualifications in Education or equivalent with evidence of continuous learning
Must hold current VIT Registration OR Working With Children Check and National Police Records Check
Desirable:
Previous experience in a position of leadership
Qualifications at Masters level
Qualification in Positive Psychology in Education
Experience managing projects and resources
Experience in girls’ education
