The Role

The College is seeking an Instrumental Tutor to teach Guitar, both acoustic and electric, ukulele and bass guitar to primary and secondary students. This position is a casual contract, term time arrangement and commences on Monday 19 April 2021 (Commencement Term 2). The contract will be reviewed at the end of the academic year. As the role is required to be engaged approximately 30 hours per week, the College would consider two casual roles at approximately 15 hours per week each if this is appropriate.
The successful candidate will be required provide tuition as follows:
  • Private guitar and bass to students as required
  • Creative ensemble for one hour each week
  • Two Acoustic Rock Bands for one hour each, per week
  • Private guitar, bass and ukulele students as required
  • Lower primary students in the Ukulele Program for 30 minutes each week
  • Guitar Vocal Ensemble for 45 minutes each week
  • Senior Rock Band for one hour each week.

To be successful, you will:
  • Demonstrate previous experience in a school or learning environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and contribute to a positive working environment
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of initiative and be proactive
  • Be able to quickly and genuinely build rapport with all members of the College community
The successful candidate will possess a relevant qualification with subsequent relevant experience. In addition, you must hold or be able to hold a current working with children check (Blue Card).
