Full Job Description
This is an exciting time to join Swinburne’s Croydon campus with 3 opportunities available, including one sessional/casual teacher and two full-time, 12 month fixed-term roles. As Swinburne’s carpentry teacher you are required to inspire, engage and educate our students for the 21st century.

Reporting into the Senior Educator, you will implement industry best practice and apply current learning technologies and contemporary learning pedagogies. Further, you will work collaboratively within a team of education professionals. Within this team environment, you will plan, deliver, assess, evaluate and ensure compliance of high quality education and training programs. This role requires you to be able to customise and adapt our programs to meet our cohort which is primarily apprentices, pre-apprentices and VET in secondary school students.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or its successor - Essential) - Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent - Essential) - AQF5 level (or above) Qualification in Education (Prefered)
  • Vocational experience relevant to the nominated teaching programs
  • Demonstrated excellence or capacity to implement high quality approaches in teaching and assessment, using a variety of learning modes, which respond to diverse student learning needs
  • Understanding of current VET policy and developments and innovative approaches to vocational education and training
