An exciting opportunity now exists to join the Research Services Team within the Faculty of Business and Law as HDR Support Coordinator. The position is responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality administrative support to staff and HDR students of the Faculty, in relation to all aspects of the Higher Degrees by Research program, and the proposed Master of Research (MRes), including course approvals, recruitment, inquiries, candidature management processes, scholarships, approval of research-related leave, travel and project funding, and provision of research training and infrastructure, communications and online content.

Key responsibilities will include:
Provide high level advice to the Associate Dean (Research), Research Services Manager, Faculty HDR Director, Dept/School Heads and Directors of HDR, and HDR Supervisors, on HDR program and candidature management, including current and new HDR partnership programs and the proposed introduction of a Master of Research.

Conduct analysis of HDR program performance against key performance targets and benchmarks, and provide authoritative advice and reports to identify strategies to improve performance in key areas.

Contribute to the development and delivery of strategies, processes, information management systems and databases relating to HDR courses, recruitment, admission scholarships and candidature, to support student learning and engagement, timely and successful completion, ensure University procedural compliance and deliver continuous improvement outcomes.

Develop and implement Faculty policy and processes in relation to HDR infrastructure and efficient and effective systems for provision, allocation and reporting on resource allocation.
Coordinate the effective communication of research and related policy, process, news and planning, including development, implementation and maintenance of online information and resources for prospective and current students, and staff.

Support the Faculty HDR Director in the development and organisation of research induction and training programs, and promote programs offered through the Graduate Research Academy and Deakin Research to the HDR cohort, Supervisors and HDR Directors.
Act as Secretary to the Faculty HDR Committee and represent the Faculty as required on University committees and working groups relating to research and research training programs and initiatives.

To be successful, you will have:
A relevant tertiary degree with several years relevant work experience, or equivalent education and training in a research environment.
High level oral and written communication skills, including excellent conceptual, analytical, problem solving, reporting and presentation skills.
Significant experience in university administration, particularly in relation to staff and student research programs
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the structure of Higher Degrees by Research with the ability to independently interpret and apply organisational policies.
