About the role

A role in Out of School Hours Care is both rewarding and fun with the opportunity to work in a creative way with school age children. CatholicCare’s energetic, passionate and experienced Children’s Services team provide high quality before and after school, and vacation care throughout the Central Coast, Northern Beaches and North Western Sydney.

This Permanent Part-time Educator “Relief” position works 15 hours per week across several of our Outside of School Hours services located within Sydney’s Northern Beaches and Northern Suburbs. Eg: Manly, Manly Vale, Mona Vale, Freshwater, Pymble, Lindfield and Carlingford. A travel allowance will be given for this role.

This position would suit a candidate who has flexibility to travel to these locations and who is available to work in accordance with the split shifts our Centres operate within, such as: 7am – 9am and 3pm – 6pm.

A “Relief” position has a main purpose to cover staffing gaps as they arise due leave or other reasons. This position will provide an invaluable support service to our network of Centres.


  • Assisting in developing, implementing and evaluating programs for children aged 5 – 12 years in Before School Care and After School Care and Vacation Care
  • Supporting the Educational Leader in developing programming for the service
  • Assisting the Coordinator with administration duties as required
  • Building relationships with children, their families and school executive and staff
  • Assisting the Coordinator in ensuring adherence to and compliance with relevant law, regulations and the National Quality Framework.

Skills & experience

  • Minimum Certificate III in Children Services
  • Experience in working with school age children
  • Understand the National Law & Regulations, and National Quality Framework including 'My Time Our Place"
  • Demonstrate strong relationship management skills and the ability to build sound networks in the school and community
  • Possess current Working with Children Clearance, First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis, and Identify and Respond (or be prepared to obtain)
  • NSW Driver’s Licence and access to an insured vehicle.
