Welcome to Malanda State School

We are a small rural coeducational Prep to Year 6 school with approximately 460 students. We are situated amidst World Heritage rainforest on the Atherton Tableland in tropical Far North Queensland. As we are committed to providing all students with quality education, for us, quality is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skilled execution.

Our school prides itself on the warm and caring environment we have created here. After schooling at Malanda Primary our students are able to think, create, communicate, investigate, participate, and reflect. We work deliberately to improve the children's emotional resilience so that they have positive self-esteem, can solve problems, are responsible and accountable and are able to get along with others. As a result, our students are happy and enjoy coming to school to learn. Classrooms are quiet and orderly places where students' learning needs are met.
