Aspire Early Intervention provides intensive 1:1 instruction to young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Our behaviour technicians teach communication, play, motor, self-regulation, and theory of mind skills.
Our mission is to provide behavioural and educational services that meet the individual needs of our clients and that result in their ability to develop meaningful relationships and achieve the highest level of independence possible in their home and community settings.
Responsibilities include:
Structured one-on-one instruction with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other developmental difficulties in their home, school and/or community settings
Create a fun and supportive learning environment for children with special needs
Implement educational programs and assist with design of behaviour interventions
Plan and implement the development of functional communication skills (i.e. speaking and using assistive communication devices
Provide instruction on social skills (i.e. social interactions, play behaviour, and conversational skills)
Support independence with adaptive living skills (daily routines)
Collect clinical data and track progress
Participate in team meetings with a behaviour analyst, parents and other team members
Full Time - 30+ hours per week
Qualifications:
A minimum of a diploma or certificate III in childcare services, or a degree in Education, Psychology or another related field
Experience working with children
Possess a reliable means of transportation, valid driver's license, car insurance and a willingness to travel
Ability to communicate effectively, utilizing both written and verbal skills
Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism
Compassionate and understanding
Legal authorisation to work in Australia
Must pass a working with children check
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Applied Behaviour Analysis and/or managing children with challenging behaviours
BCBA /BCaBA
CPR and First Aid Certification
40-hours of pre-employment coursework in Behaviour Analysis
