The opportunity

TAFE NSW is looking for qualified, experienced individuals who wish to be considered for Part Time Casual Teaching opportunities in Children Services as they arise in our Western Sydney Region. The role of the TAFE Teacher as a professional educator is to help, construct, guide and enhance the educative process. The teacher delivers educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

About you

You are passionate about sharing your extensive industry experience in Children’s Services. You have the ambition and drive to succeed and mentor students, passing on your experience and knowledge, and you have demonstrated experience in delivering training in an adult learning environment.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Recognised Degree in Early Childhood Education and/or Primary Teaching or equivalent.
  • As a minimum teaching qualification Teacher must hold the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) OR Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110), and one of the following: TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills or its successor or TAELLN401A Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills and one of the following: TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools or its successor or TAEASS502A Design and develop assessment tools or TAEASS502B Design and develop assessment tools.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in early childhood education and/or primary teaching where the skills and knowledge of your qualification have been applied, along with the ability to demonstrate industry currency.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to facilitate learning in diverse adult learning environments.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service.
  • Well-developed communication and negotiation skills in English, both written and oral.
