About the opportunity

This role has been philanthropically enabled with the generous support of Mr David Anstice. The University of Sydney Nano Institute (Sydney Nano) is looking for a self-driven Senior Research Officer to join their high performing team. This is a great opportunity to work closely with the Director of Sydney Nano to support the institute's NanoHealth initiative. This initiative will endeavour to enhance the University's research at the convergence of nanoscience, nanotechnology, medicine and health across the broad spectrum of the University's health ecosystem including, biology, physiology, pharmaceutics, microbiology, pharmacology, dentistry, ophthalmology, drug discovery and drug delivery.

You will utilise your strong operational skills to act as secretariat for the Nanohealth Steering committee and activities of the research streams. You will use your engagement and collaboration skills to liaise with academic and research professional members of the initiative as well as clinicians and health-care professionals who form part of the University of Sydney's health and medicine ecosystem.

  • excellent stakeholder management skills across a wide range of disciplines and stakeholder types
  • capability to translate research concepts/ outputs into high quality visual PowerPoint presentations
  • experience in planning and preliminary analysis to investigate and support scoping of research programs/projects
  • tertiary qualifications in appropriate discipline with relevant experience in related field.
  • an understanding and current knowledge of relevant aspects of the Work Health and Safety Policy and relevant legislation (including Safe Laboratory Practices for roles based in Laboratory)
  • an ability to organise and prioritise work, sometimes under pressure and with competing priorities.
