About us

PCYC Institute is part of PCYC NSW; we are the pre-eminent youth organisation working with Police and the Community to empower young people to reach their potential.

PCYC operates across NSW through our 65 clubs by providing a range of sporting activities, youth and family support. In conjunction with Youth Command Police, we provide work ready, white card and vocational pathways programs and courses for young people.

About the program

PCYC provide a term based holistic program to young people throughout NSW who are disengaged at school, and potentially looking for a pathway into casual or full time work, a traineeship or an apprenticeship. The Program is a Police iniative called RISEUP and is part of a suite of dedicated courses and tools to help young people stay on track, re engage in education or find the pathway toward a future career. We are seeking trainers than can access the following locations for Term 2, however we require people around the state to be able to deliver content for the remainder of 2021.

Term 2 Course Locations:

-  Lake Macquarie

- Griffith

- Bankstown

- Belmore

- Mt Druitt

- Gunnedah

About the Role

PCYC Institute is seeking contract trainers to deliver and assess accredited training in the packages listed above.

Ideally, you will possess a sound understanding of the VET industry and have experience in gathering quality evidence during the assessment process that will enable you to hit the ground running. You will also be familiar with the challenges of delivering to a diverse clientele, across the state in various environments including the workplace, classroom, e learning.

Your knowledge of the recognition process will allow you to consider a person’s existing set of skills and knowledge to design a learning program that is adaptable to each student’s needs. You will have current experience in your chosen field of training.

Essential criteria

• TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (must hold upgraded units TAELLN401 and TAEASS502).

• At least 80 hours evidenced currency within your specialty industry within the last two years

• Related package qualifications in the industry or demonstrated ability to Skills Map to relevant Units of Competency

• Demonstrated experience delivering quality training and assessment in VET

• Evidence of continuing professional development in your specialty industry and VET for the next 12 months

• WWC and Police Check

• Current driver’s licence.

• Applications should include a Trainer Matrix where possible
