The role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly-credentialled academic to join an established team responsible for teaching, undertaking research, publishing and attracting research funding in Chemistry. As the successful candidate you will deliver excellent teaching, provide supervision to HDR students and develop a high quality research program. The School of Life and Environmental Sciences chemistry teaching program has recently received RACI accreditation.

To be successful, you will have:

  • PhD in Chemistry or a relevant field
  • An established record of publications in highly ranked international academic journals, including success in gaining nationally competitive and/or industry research funding, relative to opportunity.
  • Experience in learning and teaching including for example in the cloud.
  • Evidence of undergraduate curriculum development in Chemistry for undergraduate teaching.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide leadership in teaching and learning through roles such as Unit Chair.
  • Contribute in the development of course and unit curriculum that meets RACI accreditation.
  • Enhance the quality of teaching and learning activities, including identifying and responding to opportunities to advance the discipline.
  • Establish a successful research program.
  • Participate in the University's Performance Planning and Review program.
  • Partake in activities which enhance the profile and reputation of the School within your discipline areas
