Marist College Ashgrove is a Catholic day and boarding school for boys in Years 5-12, situated in Brisbane’s inner Northern suburbs. About the role:

MCA is looking for an enthusiastic, driven, and qualified Assistant Tennis Coach who believe they have what it takes to develop and deliver the Mission and Vision for Tennis and become part of the MCA sports team, an integral part of life at the College.

MCA sees high performers within the ranks and would like to encourage and develop those with a passion and talent for Tennis.

MISSION
The MCA Community Tennis Club (‘The Club’) is a family friendly club dedicated to delivering a consistent high-quality sporting experience to club members of all ages and skill levels. The Club will be seen as the benchmark for private school tennis clubs and be a driver of choice for parents when selecting a tennis focused school for their son.

VISION
Within 5 years, the MCA Community Tennis Club will have
400 students participating and deliver The College a 1st in the AIC competition. The Club will also have established external adult and junior programs, offering private lessons and court hire.

General

  • The position is a 12-month, part-time position (20 hours per week) under the direction of the Head Tennis Coach;
  • 6:30am to 8pm coverage, five days per week between Head Coach and Assistant Coach;
  • Remuneration will be dependent on experience and qualifications;
  • 5 hours per week allocated to administration developing MCA Community Tennis Club, implanting new income streams;
  • 7 hours per week allocated to the provision of HPE curriculum;
  • Facilitating external court hires, social tennis, tennis camps, etc.
  • This position will start as soon as possible but at the latest, Monday 3rd May 2021.
Essential Selection Criteria:
  • You will provide a consistent and high-level delivery of coaching across the range of programs and age groups.
  • You will need to be confident, reliable, and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills. Your exceptional sportsmanship and ability to build relationships with students, parents, community, colleagues, and clients will ensure you successfully perform the role.
  • You have professional presentation, are courteous and maintain awareness of school standards for yourself, your team, and the students.
  • You have competency, organisational skills, and business acumen required to develop and deliver MCA’s Tennis Mission and Vision and detailed services set out in the Position Description either as a head coach or assistant coach supporting role.
  • You are collaborative in nature, developing plans and strategies through consultation with MCA’s key stakeholders and leadership team.
  • You hold a minimum of a Tennis Australia Junior Development Coaching Qualification and membership.

Applicants must hold a Working with Children check issued by Blue Card Services and a First Aid Certificate.
