JOB DESCRIPTION

Strelley Community School has an exciting, full-time opportunity for an Early Childhood Teacher who is ECE trained or Primary School qualified with proven ECE experience to join the team based at our Warralong (Karntimarta) campus. Strelley Community School is a remote Aboriginal Independent Community School located in the PIlbara Region of WA. The school has approximately 80 K-12 students across 2 campuses. The language, culture and history of the students are highly respected and valued within the school and its programs.

The position is available Early Term 2 to the end of Term 4 2021. An ongoing appointment may be possible.

All applicants must have a current Teacher registration with TRBWA and Working with Children's Check.Successful applicants will be committed to:

On country learning is a high priority for the school and the community so you must be willing and able to participate fully during these sessions. This is a time that community elders take a lead in the learning and the teachers become their assistants.You will need to be willing to become a part of the community and respect the culture that is strong within the community.

In return for your hard work and dedication, you will receive a competitive salary in line with Schedule A of the School Education Act Employees' (Teachers and Administrators) General Agreement 2019 of $72,137 to $107,049 pa (based on relevant training and experience) +super + District Allowance of $62.20 per fortnight. The teaching position is governed by all other provisions of the Independent School Teachers' Award 1976 (as amended).

A 2-bedroom demountable home is provided rent free by the Foundation,including free power, water and gas. The home is furnished with the essentials. Relocation assistance and annual travel allowance is also provided.
