  • CSIRO Education and Outreach has recently received new funding for the Digital Careers program and is seeking a motivated Digital Technologies Curriculum Officer to join the team. Digital Careers delivers real world, future-focused education initiatives to help students pursue an exciting digital career. The program supports teachers and encourages students’ understanding of digital technologies and the foundation skills they require in an ever-changing workforce.

    In this diverse role, you will work with the program team to develop and implement content and resources to support the delivery of the Digital Careers program into primary and secondary schools. You will undertake tasks such as the design and delivery of program activities, development of materials to support the delivery of the Technologies Curriculum and the development and delivery of teacher professional learning.

    We are looking for candidates with good communication and interpersonal skills coupled with experience in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) education programs, information technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, inquiry-based learning, stakeholder engagement or project management.

    Your duties will include:
  • Developing, aligning and producing curriculum materials to support activities within the Digital Careers program.
  • Developing and delivering quality teacher professional learning activities around Digital Careers activities and how they relate to the Australian curriculum focussing on the Technologies learning areas.
  • Working collaboratively with external stakeholders and colleagues within your team and across CSIRO to reach objectives and (where relevant) engaging with external bodies, participants and the general public.

  • Location: Negotiable - Melbourne (Clayton), Brisbane (Dutton Park), Sydney (North Ryde), Canberra, Hobart, Adelaide, Darwin or Perth

    Salary: AU$83k - AU$94k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

    Tenure: Specified term till 31st March 2023

    To be considered you will need:
  • Qualifications or equivalent relevant work experience in STEM Education.
  • A history developing education resource materials, delivered through an understanding of the Digital Technologies Australian Curriculum and current issues facing school science and technologies education.
  • High level written and oral communication skills in a variety of formats and for a range of audiences, including individuals and groups.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and a history of establishing and maintaining strong and productive relationships and networks with colleagues, leaders and key stakeholders.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment, proactively collaborating and consulting with internal and external stakeholders, as well as sharing resources to accomplish objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to find workable solutions to complex problems and resolve complaints using creativity, reasoning and experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to work safely with children.
  • To be able and willing to travel locally, interstate and internationally as required.

    Eligibility

    The successful applicant will be required to obtain and provide a National Police Check or equivalent.
