The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) (DVCA) is a member of UQ’s senior executive, and is responsible for the University’s commitment to providing high-quality teaching and learning, operational, corporate, and pastoral support within the student experience.

The Student Affairs Division falls within the DVCA portfolio, and is a key driver in enhancing the UQ student experience, student retention, success, and employability. It has two operational arms: Student Services and Student Enrichment and Employability Development. The Division also manages the University’s day-to-day relationship with UQU, and student accommodation providers, and works with UQ Health Care to ensure medical service provision for students.

The objective of Student Services is to provide a range of services and support functions that enhance the student experience and assist in ensuring student success.

Student Enrichment and Employability Development enhances student employability through a focus on experiential learning, ensuring that students can capitalise on the benefits of UQ’s diversity, research reputation and capacity, international partnerships, and strong links with industry and the professions

About This Opportunity

The Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for the review and evaluation of existing systems and work in partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement process improvements. This involves analysis and definition of business requirements, as well as identification, design, user testing and implementation of innovative solutions including business process reengineering and system optimisation.

This position will have a particular focus on supporting UQ to respond to increased government focus on employability related reporting as such experience in CareerHub and/or InPlace is highly desired.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this position, you will be an experienced Business Analyst with knowledge of the tertiary education sector as well as demonstrated experience in CareerHub and/or InPlace systems.

You will have outstanding stakeholder engagement and ability to undertake analysis of new and existing processes taking into account operational requirements, issues and opportunities.

You will need demonstrated problem-solving skills, an adaptive nature and ability to investigate issues and make recommendations to clients and supporting/facilitating the implementation of agreed solutions.

What We Can Offer

One full-time, fixed term position for three years at a HEW level 7.

Two full-time, fixed term positions for two years at a HEW level 7.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $88,793 - $96,783, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $103,852 - $113,236.
