An opportunity has opened up for an OSHC Educational Leader to join this small local provider & small service in the West Ryde area.

  • Positive culture, support, mentoring, monthly PD provided.

A small local provider are looking for an Educational Leader (sits in line with an Assistant Coordinator and below a Coordinator – well supported role) to join their lovely service located on school grounds in a quiet community. This is a small school and service, and the role comes with a a lot of autonomy and trust to make it your own. The provider understands that no service is the same and that each have their own unique ways of running, routines, programming and more.

As Educational Leader you will be responsible for the leading the development of the program for the service, program cycle, collaborating with educators, supporting educators, and ensuring that children’s learning and development are guided by the learning outcomes of the My Time, Our Place learning framework.

Why this role?

  • Approx $30 per hour pending experience & qualifications.
  • Plus super and broken shift allowance for each split shift worked.
  • A permanent part time role to start of between 27 – 37.5 hours per week, as the service is small but is growing the role will grow as the service grows.
  • Supported by an Assistant Coordinator and Coordinator (two support people).
  • Non-contact time mixed with on the floor time.
  • 5 – 7 hours off the floor each week for programming and admin time (flexible if you feel you need less due to other commitments or more).
  • The service is open 7-8:45am and 3-6pm during term time and 7am – 7pm during school holidays for Vacation Care.
  • Ideally split shifts in Term Time to help ensure continuity of educators is maintained in service and opportunity for relationships to build with children. To start with not every morning is available, but the positions will grow.
  • Don’t feel rushed in your work, ability to share the workload with your team and have support always at hand from management.
  • Gain valuable experience in an Educational Leader position.

  • Could suit someone looking to expand their knowledge and experience in OSHC / working with children, or could suit someone who has full time availability but perhaps studying online still.

  • Approved for 50 children however average 25-30 children. Looking to grow to 80 children.
  • Head office is just 20 minutes away, where you are always welcome. Management are there and available if you have any questions.
  • Area Manager visits once a month at a minimum, however they want the centre leadership team to lead the centre (lots of trust and autonomy). They do not interfere, just provide support and guidance.

  • Monthly professional development provided and is based on feedback of what the staff are looking for.

Who are we looking for?

  • Preferable experience as an Educational Leader / Team Leader / Senior Educator in OSHC or early childhood education.
  • Experience with programming, program cycles and understanding pedagogy.
  • Someone looking for a change of organisation, who wants to step up and make a positive difference.
  • Great computer, communication, time management and organisational skills.
  • Someone that is vibrant and has a friendly and approachable personality with a passion for working with children.
  • Desired Diploma in Children’s Services or studying towards, however not essential.
  • CHCPRT001: Identify and respond to children and young people at risk - Accredited Child Protection.
  • HLTAID004: Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting.
  • Knowledge of school aged children's development and needs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NQF and all it embodies - NQS, Framework, Regulations.
