The positions

We are seeking two passionate Mathematics Teachers, to join our dedicated team.

The opportunities available are:

  • Full Time, Ongoing- Teaching Year 7-10, with the ability to also teach VCE
  • Full Time, Fixed Term, until the end of the 2021- Teaching Years 5-10

These roles will facilitate, support and enhance student learning, covering the curriculum as outlined in the documentation. It is expected that all Subject Teachers have a broad and deep understanding of their subject specific content.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Help to develop a stimulating learning environment by using a variety of styles and approaches to cater for individual learning needs
  • Utilise appropriate pedagogical practices to expand the growth of individual students across academic, spiritual and emotional fields Employ a variety of strategies to effectively implement the curriculum
  • Actively participate and engage in the School’s pastoral care system which reflects Loreto values
  • Implement strategies and expectations which promote a positive learning environment
  • Provide students with a child-safe environment
  • Curriculum development in collaboration with colleagues and Head of Faculty
  • Participate actively in all aspects of school life beyond the classroom including sport, positive and/or cultural activities

About You

To be successful in this position, it is essential that you have:

  • Current Teaching Registration (Victorian Institute of Teaching)
  • Proven expertise and knowledge in teaching Mathematics
  • An innovative and engaging approach to relevant area of teaching
  • A demonstrated understanding and appreciation of principles and practices of student learning strategies and styles
  • Excellent communication skills to a range of audiences
  • A collaborative approach with colleagues in planning and delivering curriculum
  • Proven experience in establishing and fostering relationships with students, staff and parents
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated desire to apply a growth mindset to professional development

We also would prefer that you have current First Aid and CPR certificates, however these are not essential.

These positions will both commence in Term 2, 2021
