JOB DESCRIPTION

Hill Street Children's Centre is looking for highly driven learner to start their Early Childhood Education Traineeship to join our team. You would be studying a Certificate III in Children’s Services, while receiving study time, mentoring and on the job practical training. This role is ideal for someone who can show a great initiative with a strong focus on growth, training and progression. 

The successful Trainee will be dedicated and motivated to complete their Certificate III in Early Childhood Education, show initiative in learning programs and practices and will be a passionate, caring and nurturing trainee to our wonderful children. Graduates from our Program don’t just complete their qualification, they emerge with all the knowledge and experience needed to commence a meaningful career as an early childhood professional.

Please note: If you have completed a qualification at a Certificate III level or higher in any industry, you may not be eligible for the traineeship on offer. An eligibility check will be conducted on application.Your skills and qualifications should include:

  • The willingness to study towards a Certificate III in Children’s Services
  • The ability to gain a Working with Children Check (NSW)
  • Dedication to developing the future of children
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • A friendly and energetic demeanor
  • The enthusiasm to be proactive in implementing curriculum

Your key priorities will be to:

  • Assist in the delivery of educational programs for all age groups
  • Assist in planning learning environments, setting up activities, preparing and cleaning away materials and supplies
  • Maintain effective communication with the parents of each child
  • Ensure a high level of health & safety standards are maintained at all times
  • Maintain positive working relationships with team members
  • Create a friendly, secure and stimulating interactive learning environment
