Combine your talent for team leadership and your experience within the disability sector to enhance the CDU student experience.

We are a new world university. Like our namesake, Charles Darwin, we think differently. We innovate, embrace change, challenge conventions and look for better ways. We’re not about tradition or legacy, privilege or exclusivity. We care about people as individuals, and about our wider society. We’re about what we can give to the world, rather than what we take. We cannot build a new world without diversity of thought, so we bring together people with unique perspectives in an inclusive and supporting learning environment to help them connect, discover and grow. This is the CDU difference.

As the Team Leader Access and Inclusion, you lead a small team to coordinate and provide relevant support services for CDU students with disabilities, or with other factors impacting their study, to ensure that they are afforded appropriate opportunities to enter and participate fully in their CDU experience. This will involve providing advice and information to staff and students regarding university policy, procedures and relevant legislation as they relate to access and inclusion, and collaborating with students and relevant CDU staff to develop individualised Learning Access Plans.

Your knowledge of relevant disability and discrimination legislation and regulations will be thorough and contemporary, and you will be confident in advising University staff on disability issues including the University’s obligations to make reasonable adjustments for students.

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area (e.g. Education, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Psychology etc) and demonstrated experience working with clients with disabilities will support your application, as will the ability to demonstrate highly-developed communication skills to effectively and sensitively consult with a wide range of individuals maintaining strict confidentiality. Foundational knowledge and understanding of government policies programs and initiatives regarding people with disabilities will also add strength to your submission. Flexible working hours may be negotiated.
