Armadale Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Teacher – Engagement, who is dedicated to supporting student achievement, to join our Student Engagement and Support (SES) team.

Through aspiration and endeavour, equity and wellbeing, the Teacher – Engagement ensures all students are supported in their schooling; with a particular focus on academic, emotional, behavioural and cognitive engagement. Demonstrating effective communication, and liaison with both internal and external stakeholders, the successful applicant will be responsible for building strong rapport and relationships with students, staff, and parents/caregivers - with a focus on triage, case management and case involvement.

Working collaboratively within the SES team, and under the guidance of the Program Coordinators – SES, the Teacher – Engagement, will flourish in a fast-paced and responsive work environment. The successful applicant will be exceptionally organised - keeping accurate records and analyse system and school data to inform future practices. Using Student Attendance Reporting (SAR), Compass Chronicle and Attendance modules, coupled with other relevant system data tools, and anecdotal trends, the Teacher – Engagement will also identify and provide evidence-based preventative and responsive interventions, as well as source and lead the implementation of social and emotional learning programs. 

As a culturally responsive teacher, with a high emotional intelligence, the Teacher – Engagement will provide mentorship for a range of students with complex family dynamics, behavioural and emotional support needs. The successful applicant will have outstanding professional integrity, using their understanding of both departmental and school policies to work autonomously throughout the school day to achieve planned outcomes in line with the SES Operational Plan. 

A highly accomplished classroom teacher, with strong classroom management and a positive behaviour support knowledge, will provide quality and educative, professional advice to staff in engaging all students across all learning areas.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
