This is a permanent part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2021

Orange Grove Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and motivated Music and Art Teacher to join their friendly team. You will be responsible for delivering music and art programs to students in Kindergarten to Year 6.

As the Music Teacher you will be teaching all aspects of music to students and as Orange Grove PS has a large number of African Drums, having experience with African Drumming would be advantageous. Orange Grove PS also has a Junior and Senior Choir and the ability to run choirs is preferred.

As the Art Teacher you will be teaching all aspects of Visual arts to the students in a well-resourced room. The successful applicant will have a passion for Art and an eagerness to promote the subject throughout the school and with the parent community. You must be willing to be innovative and encourage high expectations of creativity and achievement amongst our students.

The successful applicant will be knowledgeable about promoting music and art and have the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff and the wider community.

Orange Grove PS is a small Independent Public School with a long and proud history of providing quality education to our students. While tradition is an important part of our culture, our focus is on preparing children for the future. Our school caters for up to 130 children from Kindergarten to Year 6 and has a strong ethos of being a warm, caring and friendly community where every child is treated as a valued individual as guided by our motto of 'Friendship and Achievement'.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

TRAINING

Employees will be required to:
  • Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
