About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking a self-driven, passionate Success Coach to join our collaborative, tight knit team across the Nursing portfolio. This role would suit someone who thrives on empowering students to reach their full potential, with resilience and an empathetic nature as their strengths.

Our Success Coaches are industry and teaching stars, able to leverage a student’s strengths and align their learning with their career goals. You will work with specified cohorts of health and nursing students from their first admission, coaching them to successfully navigate their course and build personal and professional capability to improve their employability outcomes. With a focus on the student’s career goals, and trained in Gallup strengths quest you will take a strengths-based approach to support and motivate students for study and career success.

Success Coaches are qualified industry professionals in the relevant field of study able to give students the inside edge on success in their chosen career. Using the platform Careers Connect, you will help students to secure placements, internships and opportunities in internal enterprises.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist new students safely navigate through their intake by delivering workshops, coaching sessions, and various student group activities
  • Work with Academic teams to take custody of a cohort of students, documenting their career goals and ambitions and building their employability skills
  • Work in partnership with the Head of Nursing and Coordinator Nursing to deliver accredited curricula that develops students’ career management and employability skills including:
  • resume, interview and portfolio preparation
  • preparing for Work Integrated Learning and finding placements industry and employer research, professional associations and professional practice
  • Torrens Professional Assessment, Gallup strengths and personal branding workshops
  • Collaborate with the Learning Support teams to support students at risk and implement interventions
  • Coach online, on campus and hybrid students throughout their journey, ensuring students make good progress and re-enroll, and that students at risk of withdrawal are identified and supported.

This is a permanent full time role based at our campuses in Fortitude Valley

Skills and Experience

To be successful in the Success Coach position you will possess:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent with a Minimum 5 years’ work experience in Nursing
  • Division 1 Registered Nurse with AHPRA with no conditions.
  • Minimum 5 years’ industry experience in a relevant field preferably with strong industry connections
  • The ability to increase student motivation and engagement and improve their competencies to build their employability skills
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of career management and employability skills in a relevant field, including recruitment practices and early career success
  • The ability to deliver a high level of service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication skills , relationship building and networking skills
  • Coaching certification and/or experience in improving motivation and performance through coaching conversations is highly advantageous
