About the Centre/ServiceSaltwater Child Care Centre was first established in 1992 and works in partnership with the Maribyrnong City Council. We are a 46-place centre which is committed to providing high quality care and education for young children in a supportive, nurturing and educational environment. DescriptionWe are seeking a committed, highly motivated Educational Leader to work on a part time basis Tuesday – Thursday (3 days / 15hrs) with possibility of increasing weekly hours in the future. Key responsibilities of the position will include, but are not limited to:
  • Good practical knowledge and implementation of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Provide regular mentoring, support and supervision to staff.
  • Establish and maintain a reflective and collaborative working environment to ensure an effective educational program.
  • Identify professional development needs of the staff and work with the Centre Manager to plan appropriate learning opportunities
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs
  • Lead and be a part of reflective discussions about practice and implement the various learning frameworks
  • Knowledge and experience with inclusive practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A creative and cooperative team player
QualificationsEssential Criteria:
  • Diploma in Children's Services or Bachelor of Early Education (or equivalent as approved by ACECQA)
  • Previous experience working as an Educational Leader
  • Current Working with Children’s Check
  • Current First Aid and Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates
  • Completed Child Protection Training
