  • $68,004 to $ 91,857 per annum (Level A)
  • $96,631 to $114,524 per annum (Level B)
  • Plus 17% employer superannuation. Salary packaging options are available

The School has a long history of excellence in environmental and agricultural education through its degrees in environmental and agricultural sciences and in teaching both in internal and external modes. The staff of the School is actively involved in education and research funded by a wide range of international, national, state and local government and industry agencies.

The Faculty of Science, Agriculture, Business & Law at UNE is currently inviting applications from highly motivated and qualified individuals for the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Predator Ecology in the Life, Earth and Environment theme in the School of Environmental and Rural Science.


About the Role

As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Predator Ecology, you will join the leadership team of a NSW Environmental Trust funded Major Project to develop effective management strategies for feral cats in New South Wales environments. You will undertake collaborative research with existing staff and co-supervise Higher Degree Research students to improve monitoring of feral cats and other predators. You will lead the analysis and interpretation of data from existing monitoring arrays and have dedicated resources to undertake new research at our field sites, to meet project milestones.


Skills and Experience

You will have a PhD, or near completion, or equivalent, awarded in quantitative ecology or a closely related field. You will have a developing research track record of publications of independent research in high-quality peer reviewed journals. You will be innovative and able to think creatively about research. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to work as part of a research team and be able to meet project deadlines. You will be willing and able to work with associates in remote field conditions.
