The Western Australian Police and Community Youth Centres (Inc.) (WA PCYC) is looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to take up the exciting casual role of Advanced Gymnastics Coach at Albany PCYC.

Who We Are:

PCYC is an incredible organisation that changes the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people at risk in Western Australia.
We currently operate in 16 locations, with 10 regional and six metropolitan centres and numerous, Blue Light Youth Activities and Police Ranger Units across the state. Our organisation is unique through its partnership with the WA Police, and mission simple – to help all children and young people achieve their potential.

Position Profile:

The primary responsibility of the Advanced Coach is to develop and implement activity programs to PCYC clients and ensure a professional standard of supervision, training and service is maintained at all times. The Advanced Coach also supports the centre management in daily service delivery / operational management of the centre, its staff and volunteers, and various activities. The Advanced Coach regularly reports to centre management on the progress of activities and staff, and promptly discusses any arising issues.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Effectively supervise staff, contractors, and volunteers in accordance with policies and procedures
  • In conjunction with Centre Management, plan and implement the Gymnastics program including class lists, class times and coaches hours
  • Ensure all coaches are delivering group programs / sessions in compliance with safety and industry approved practice requirements
  • Delivering lessons or instructions according to plans and programs
  • Identify and conduct assessments on potential and existing clients for sports and recreation activities and programs
  • Prepare assessment/evaluation criteria at an individual and program level
  • Develop activity/training programs and prepare associated documentation
  • Assist with collection of activity and membership fees, and reconcile money
  • Fill out file accident/ incident reports as needed

Skills and Experience:
  • Hold or working towards an Advanced or higher Gymnastics WA coaching qualification
  • More than 2 years continuous instructional experience in the area of coaching
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children, young adults, special needs and socially challenged groups through sports and exercise
  • Current Senior First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Current or willing to obtain National Police Clearance
  • Current or willing to obtain Working with Children Check
