Position Descriptor:
Indulkana and Mimili Anangu Schools are located on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands in the far North of South Australia. It is located 1,133 kms from Adelaide. We are 2 separate schools 60 km's apart which provide education for the Indulkana and Mimili B-12 communities. This position will involve working across the 2 sites as the Flexible Learning Option (FLO) teacher and will be based in Indulkana. The FLO teacher will work closely with schools and staff to support and engage young people in positive and appropriate learning programs. It will require developing strong relationships with families and communities. Case management provisions will also be required. Working in an Anangu setting can be isolating and challenging so it is important to be flexible, and work both as an individual and as a member of a team. Accommodation in Indulkana is provided. To ensure employer compliance of duty of care responsibilities given the unique environment of the APY Lands, a wellness check will be conducted for any teacher nominated for this position and prior to any offer of employment.
