About This Opportunity

Lead the development and implementation of the Institute’s external engagement strategy to raise awareness of the research capabilities, expertise, and value to the wider community and connect with the University’s alumni and donor community. Working closely with the Institute's leadership group, you will be provide expert advice to ensure all external engagement communications activities are aligned with UQ’s strategic priorities.

On a day-to-day basis your role may include, but is not limited to:

  • Develop & execute a content strategy to support IMB Advancement campaigns
  • Working collaboratively across UQ's marketing and communication, and advancement communities
  • Oversee implementation of a strategic marketing and communications program that supports and enhances relationships with IMB’s key stakeholders, including but not limited to, staff, students, alumni, government, media, industry, partners, and the community.
  • Stay abreast of opportunities and challenges impacting the Institute, and global best practice
  • Implement and manage best fit market research data collection methods

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre.

Our Ideal Candidate

Boasting experience in the development and implementation of marketing and communication campaigns and proven capacity to deliver quantifiable results, you should possess postgraduate level qualifications in market, communications, public relations or other relevant discipline. Prior demonstrated experience navigating a large and complex organisation combined with your knowledge of contemporary approaches in strategic marketing and communication is integral to your success in the role. The ability to act as a strategic advisor at senior management level in addition to outstanding written communication skills is essential to the role.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term position for up to 2 years at Professional Level 08.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $100,264.90 - $112,583.95 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $117,309.93 - $131,723.21.
