The opportunity
Griffith University is seeking an experienced Security Operations Coordinator to join our Security Team. The position is responsible for the management of the Physical and Electronic Security Systems, including, Access Control, CCTV and Key Management. This includes fault-finding within installed security systems, assisting in the design of physical and electronic security systems in new and refurbished buildings.

The role will operate within Campus Life. The Office of Campus Life is responsible for a wide range of services including Planning Design and Construction, Facilities Management, Engineering Services, Parking & Traffic, Security, Space Management, Administration and Campus Services Operations.

Reporting to the Manager, Security and Control Systems the scope of the role encompasses:

  • Management and administration of electronic security systems (access control, security alarms and CCTV)
  • Assisting in developing and reviewing designs of new installations
  • Undertaking diagnostics of existing systems to maintain optimal performance levels
  • Providing advice on relevant University Policies and Procedures related to security systems
  • Ensuring the university is compliant with relevant prevailing Legislation and Australian Standards
  • Using technical knowledge and experience to supervise contractors engaged to install and maintain the university's electronic security systems.
  • Reviewing electronic security system risks and identify the appropriate mitigating actions and amend plans, policies and procedures accordingly.

This is a continuing, full time position based at the Nathan campus. Griffith is a multi-campus university and therefore it is understood that this position will work across campuses as required.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have completed a relevant tertiary qualification, or, an equivalent combination of knowledge, training and experience. You must be able to demonstrate a high-level of knowledge and experience in the installation and management of electronic access control and CCTV systems.

In addition, you will have a high-level knowledge of IT systems (including SQL and system integration) and be able to demonstrate experience in undertaking security risk assessments and audits using a number of industry-recognised methodologies.

Salary range
HEW Level 7: $85,914 - $93,078 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $100,519 - $108,901 per annum.
