About This Opportunity

The School of Education are seeking an experience Project Manager to join their team, primarily responsible for the administrative and financial activities of research programs and projects developed under the auspices of the DSRP in the School of Education. Currently, those projects are the Longitudinal Study, Latch-On® and the inclusive secondary mathematics study.

This position may require travel overseas and interstate as well as work out of the normal span of hours including weekends.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this position you should possess a degree in disability and/or education with at least four years subsequent relevant work experience in a project management role with a focus on intellectual disability projects, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. In addition to formal qualifications you should hold, or be eligible to hold, current registration as a teacher with the Queensland College of Teachers.

You will have a demonstrated knowledge and experience of how people with Down syndrome learn and how they can be supported in their learning across the lifespan, experience conducting research with people with intellectual disability and their families and the ability to prepare and deliver training programs, particularly LATCH-ON, to teachers in the area of intellectual disability.

What We Can Offer

This is a part-time, fixed term position until 31 December 2021 at HEW level 7.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $88,763 - $96,783, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $103,852 - $113,236
