The role

We are seeking an experienced Music Teacher to deliver effective teaching, learning and caring programs in Years Prep - 6.

This part time (0.4), fixed term position is to replace a staff member on leave for the duration of Term 2, commencing 15 April 2021. The role will see you working Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, including conducting a Chamber Choir (Years 3-4) before School on Thursdays. 

You will be aligned with the School’s ethos, vision and values, and be curious, excited and invigorated by learning environments where you can make a difference.

The successful applicant will:

  • be a qualified teacher and be able to demonstrate a suitable tertiary qualification in teaching and Music
  • have experience teaching Music in Years Prep-6
  • have experience with the Kodaly pedagogy
  • be willing to contribute to the co-curricular music program
  • be willing to be involved in all aspects of the School’s program
  • possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and students
  • have high level communication skills
  • be able to work independently but also as part of a dynamic, creative and collaborative team
  • hold an Anaphylaxis Certificate or be willing to obtain this prior to commencement
  • hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
  • have a current National Police Check (obtained within the last 6 months)
