About Us:
Agricola is Curtin’s accommodation for students studying at our Kalgoorlie Campus. The provision of a safe, supportive, and community environment is an essential function of Agricola. The accommodation provides high quality accommodation and recreational facilities. Housing up to 236 students, Agricola is gated and located a few minutes’ walk to the Kalgoorlie Campus and Kalgoorlie’s central precinct. Facilities within the grounds there’s a gym, a tennis court, a squash court, barbecue areas, study rooms and a laundries.

About the role:
We have an opportunity for a Housing Manager to join our Housing Services team at our Kalgoorlie Campus and manage all aspects of the student housing complex. This includes the administration of the residence, the provision of pastoral care programs for the residents and ensuring the quality of the facilities.

In this role you will:
Provide overall management of the Housing complex including management of residence staff, Residential Assistants and supervision of contractors.
Foster community spirit through the development and implementation of social interaction and pastoral care programs.
Administer the Residential Licence Agreement dealing with infringements, behavioural and disciplinary situations.
Manage expenditure within budget parameters and ensure all rental and housing fees are collected.
Develop and review regularly comprehensive refurbishment, maintenance and upgrades.
Provide leadership and direction in the planning, development, and implementation of policies and procedures for the student residence.
Maintain and implement emergency/critical incidents procedures, and manage critical incident situations.
Ensure suitable resolution to conflict situations between residents within the residence. Applying appropriate levels of counselling, advice, guidance and conflict resolution techniques.
Develop and coordinate Residential Assistants’ Program to enhance residential life and provide support for residents outside of normal office hours
This role requires the Manager to be contactable and in attendance at the residence, outside of normal operational hours.

We are looking for someone with:
Extensive relevant experience and management expertise, preferably within the area of residential housing and property.
Ability to create an inclusive, positive, welcoming and enjoyable living and working environment for staff, students and visitors, providing a visible leadership presence.
Outstanding commercial acumen and financial management skills with experience in ensuring the financial viability of a business entity in a self-funded environment.
Strong ability to identify and respond with agility to business and community opportunities.
Values-led leadership skills with proven ability to effectively manage staff performance and to build a positive team environment.
Sound experience in critical incident management and the ability to exercise sound judgement in decision making.
Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve complex issues with sensitivity, empathy and compassion in a diverse and cross-cultural environment.
Strong understanding of youth related issues and the capacity to provide pastoral care to residents.
Previous experience in a tertiary education environment especially with student residential housing and international students (desirable).
