About the Role

The Advancement Manager, Major Gifts is responsible for securing significant philanthropic funding, from high net worth individuals, as well as trusts and foundations, to empower to the objects and strategy of the University. Working closely with the Vice Chancellor, Executive Deans, Heads of Schools and researchers to identify funding needs and opportunities.

About You

  • Proven fundraising experience in the not-for-profit or educational setting with a strong focus on major gifts.
  • Collaboration with key internal stakeholders and the ability to identify qualified prospects, engage and cultivate philanthropic relationships to solicit and secure major gifts.
  • Professional and proactive approach and the capacity to manage complex projects with ambitious timelines.
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to effectively communicate to engage and persuade a range of key stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail with administrative procedures and experience utilising Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel as well as relationship-management databases, such as Raiser’sEdge/NXT.
