We are seeking an exceptional applicant who is interested in jointly coordinating a team of professional educators who care about the difference they make in the lives of children. The role involves managing the daily operations in the excellent delivery of the National Quality Framework in Outside School Hours Care.

Bulimba State School Outside School Hours Care is a large, growing service licensed to care for 255 children and highly regarded as a "service of choice" in Brisbane. Due to its size, it is seeking to employ an experienced Assistant Coordinator to work in conjunction with the existing Management Team, and play a leadership role in managing around 30 staff and developing recreation based programs for the children aged between 5 and 12 years old.

Although we know how to have fun in our development of a great range of child focused activities, we are very serious about your professional development and career advancement. You will be supported by a Management Team with a detailed understanding of the industry.

The position will be a permanent part time role of approximately 27 plus hours per week working some split shifts during school term Monday to Friday and then varying shifts during the Vacation care program when the service is open from 6.30am to 6pm. Non-contact time will be included in your rosters to allow you ample time to plan and confidently support the smooth running of the service.

As the OSHC Assistant Coordinator, you will be supporting the Management Team in the operations of the service while building trusting partnerships with all families, children and community. You will support the development, implementation and evaluation of the daily routines, menus and programs, ensuring the safety, security and well being of the children in our care.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Team Work: Showcase strong leadership abilities while supporting a team of Educators with an emphasis on collaboration, communication, empowerment and engagement.
  • Business Development: Ability to plan, develop and meet short and long term goals to strengthen the operations of the Service.
  • Inter-personal skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills and well-developed emotional intelligence. You must be a reliable and outgoing person who has lots of initiative.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to delegate, prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and understanding in the implementation and ongoing management of the National Quality Framework.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to positively network and collaborate to drive community engagement and customer service.
  • A Diploma or Tertiary qualification in relevant field (or equivalent) or actively working towards this.
  • Hold a current First Aid, Anaphylaxis, Asthma and CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain;
  • A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check);
  • Previous leadership experience and a true passion for working with children 5- 12 years old.
