Your Opportunity

The North Queensland Region Early Childhood Education and Care Team is looking for two dynamic Heads of Department (Curriculum) to support quality improvement in approved kindergarten programs and Prep, as well as successful transitions to kindergarten and school.

The successful applicants should ideally possess an early childhood teaching qualification or experience, demonstrate an understanding of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline and Age Appropriate pedagogies and will be required to travel to rural and remote areas of the North Queensland Region. The applicant should be confident in leading change, supporting and facilitating Communities of Practice, and reporting on outcomes.

Your Role

Head of Department (Curriculum) will work with approved kindergarten programs and schools to ensure that children attending kindergarten and Prep in North Queensland Region experience high quality early learning.

The role will support and improve:

Educational leadership in the early years
Educational program and practice in kindergarten
Effective teaching and learning in Prep
Alignment to the National Quality Standard in schools
Support successful transitions to kindergarten and to school

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. For more information please CLICK HERE.
