Family Day Care (FDC) Coordinator

Permanent, part-time opportunity (0.8 FTE)

About the role

In this rewarding role you will be in charge of recruiting, inducting, supporting and monitoring Family Day Care educators in the Wide Bay Region. This role offers varied and challenging days but in essence includes:

  • Service planning and delivery of all aspects of Family Day Care including researching and identifying resources to support educators;
  • Performing regular home visits to monitor the standard of care being provided as well as to support and mentor the educators;
  • Assisting in ensuring administrative compliance including service documentation, budget and statutory requirements;
  • Undertaking family interviews and recommending day care placement options with a focus on the best outcome for the child.

The position supports educators across the Wide Bay so will mean some travel across the state and you will be required to work from both the Maryborough and Hervey Bay Offices.

About you

You have a nurturing disposition, you are highly approachable and capable of fostering positive relationships. You enjoy working with children and families who have a diverse range of complex needs and cultural backgrounds, and thrive on supporting them achieve positive outcomes for their children.

Excellent communication and time management skills are part of your expansive repertoire enabling you to comfortably liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You have comprehensive knowledge of Early Childhood Education and Care legislative requirements and effortlessly promote a culture of compliance.

To be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of:

  • Diploma in Community Services (Children's Services) or related qualification in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations;
  • Applied knowledge of compliance, statutory regulations and the National Quality Framework;
  • Demonstrated experience working in a children's services role;
  • Ability to travel overnight during the week to rural; and remote areas to conduct monitoring visits to home based educators;
  • Current driver’s license;
  • Hold a Blue Card (Working with Children), or the ability to acquire;
  • Possess a current National Police Certificate, or the ability to acquire.
