The Procurement Team is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the University's procurement activities and is instrumental in ensuring an agile, customer focused and sustainable operating model. The team manages strategic and operational procurement activities at Griffith and drives procurement transformation across the University.

The opportunity
We are currently looking for a Category Specialist to work with staff purchasing from suppliers via our online catalogue system. The role will include working with suppliers to update pricing and catalogues . It will also involve working with staff to help them with queries or handling exceptions.

You will be part of a Strategic Procurement & Supply team and will work with an experienced procurement professional that will help you where needed.

This opportunity is available due to the incumbent on parental leave and is available until 1 July 2021. While this position is advertised as full time, a part time appointment can be negotiated with the successful candidate.

This is a fixed term, full time position based at the Nathan campus. Griffith is a multi-campus university and therefore it is understood that this position will work across campuses as required.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication and strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise across all levels of a diverse organisation. You have evidence of a passion for seeking value for money, with a strong desire to build a career within Procurement. The successful applicant will hold relevant tertiary qualifications or strong work experience within the Purchasing / Procurement industry. Strong experience in e-procurement systems, supplier management and data analytics is required for this position alongside the ability to synthesise both financial and non-financial information. Experience within the higher education sector is highly desired.

Salary range
HEW Level 5: $67,754 - $76,009 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $79,272 - $88,930 per annum
