Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the Chair, School of Fashion, the incumbent provides technical, logistical, clerical and outreach support to the School of Fashion. The incumbent works to produce student and teacher resources including cutting samples, producing blocks, patterns and sample markers produced on the Garment Technology software including the provision of in class technical service and support.

In addition, the incumbent maintains and updates the department communication tools following School’s marketing strategy and the College Marketing guidelines. He/she also assists with the planning and logistics of different school exhibitions and special events involving potential students, industry partners and the media.

Academic Support
Assists faculty and the academic program by producing cutting markers, producing blocks, patterns and sample markers produced on the Garment Technology software including the provision of in-class technical service and support.
Updates all School and Program information through communication portals, including posting and creating new content using social media.
May draft instructional documents for review, as required.
Develops and updates the marketing/advertising/promotional strategies and materials for the School.
Special Events
Assists with organizing special projects and events including but not exclusive to Program Spotlights, Open House, various competitions, guest speakers, outreach events and program focused events.
Assists with the planning and coordination of the logistics around different school exhibitions and events such special events involving potential students, industry partners and the Media. Leads various school tours, as required.
Act as a photographer for the different School of Fashion events
Student Success
Supports the student adviser and the program coordinators by following up on retention and student success efforts, as required.
Responsible to support retention efforts, this includes gathering lists using PeopleSoft, calling students that are missing classes in the first three weeks, emailing students missing COM111/101 and emailing students with no timetables etc.
Assists the advisers during open enrollment and start up weeks by answering basic student questions and redirecting them, as required
Assists with the follow up on program spotlights and open houses to see if applications and prospects converted
Provides logistical support in the ancillary operation of the Fashion Arts student supply store during peak start up times , such as selling supplies and kits to students, collecting fees.
Covers the front desk, as required and orders SOF books for faculty and students.

Completed three (3) year diploma or degree in Fashion.
Minimum of one (1) year of related experience.
Experience with pattern making software.
Experience with various social media platforms.
Fluent use of Microsoft suit Adobe Illustrator and other photo/video editing software.
Demonstrated team work, interpersonal and communication skills.
