About This Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the School the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at the University of Queensland. As Centre Manager Australasian Transformer Innovation Centre you will be responsible for leading the strategic implementation and coordination of the Continuing Professional Development services and research programs for the Australasian Transformer Innovation Centre (TIC) and the TIC Industry Advisory committee.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this position you should possess a postgraduate qualification in Electrical Engineering specialising in Power Engineering or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience or; extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in power engineering.

You will have established Project Management experience in an industry environment with demonstrated leadership and management capability and a sound knowledge and understanding of industry research and development requirements and expertise in CPD course development and delivery with the ability to effectively manage a variety of stakeholders.

Registration as a Professional Power Engineer with extensive experience in Transformer design, manufacture, commissioning and testing and demonstrated experience in Transformer manufacturing and operations is desirable.

What We Can Offer

This is a part-time, fixed term position for 18 months at HEW level 8.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $100,264 - $112,583, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $117,309 - $131,723
