We are seeking a caring, energetic and proactive nanny to assist a lovely family in Willoughby. The family has 4 happy and loved children – 7 year old boy and 5 year old boy attend the local primary school, 2 year old boy and 3 month old baby girl. The role is predominately for care of the 2 year old boy, with some assistance with the older ones and baby as required (e.g. morning routine before school). The mother is currently on maternity leave providing care for the 3 month old baby and the broader family. 

The days and normal hours over 4 days - 36 hours

Monday 7.00am - 4.00pm
Tuesday 7.00am - 4.00pm
Wednesday 7.00am - 4.00pm
Thursday 7.00am - 4.00pm

Flexibility on total hours and start / finish times for the right candidate. Potential for additional hours for the right candidate and babysitting on occasion should this be desired.

An ideal nanny will be calm and nurturing. Be able to think on their feet and be proactive along with using their initiative. The role involves sole care of the 2 year old and assistance with the primary school children before and after school (drop-offs / pick-ups not required) along with some help when needed with the new baby. Mum is on maternity leave and will return to work in the next 3-4 months when the duties of the role may change slightly. Assistance with the running of the household and helping keep the children in their set routines.

The family would like the nanny to be nurturing and calm under pressure and be able to form a lovely bond with the whole family and love the children as much as they do. They would like the nanny to stay with them on a long-term basis. 

The carer’s responsibilities for this role will be as follows –

  • Care of the children (predominately 2 year old)
  • Keeping children in established routines
  • Play and engage with the children
  • Prepare lunches and snacks
  • Light household duties -Maintaining tidy/clean kitchen and working areas of the home
  • Assistance with family laundry

The family’s expectations from their nanny are -

  • 3-5 years experience as a nanny or working in child care
  • Child care qualification (preferred not essential)
  • 0-3 age experience (preferred)
  • Current First Aid
  • Current working with children’s check number
  • Patient and caring
  • Motivated and reliable
  • Proactive
  • Clean/tidy
  • Speak fluent English and display strong communication skills
  • To be fit, healthy and active
  • Able to prepare nutritious lunches and snacks
