The Sharma Lab at Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and Curtin Medical School focuses on the triquetra of early development, regeneration, and cancer. We are interested in understanding the developmental origin of cancer by uncovering the similarities between embryogenesis and tumor development.

In this role you will…
We are seeking an outstanding candidate who is interested in applying computational/machine learning approaches to solve cutting-edge problems in tumor evolution and ecosystem. The Research Associate is expected to work closely with experimental collaborators in lab to analyse single cell RNA-seq, sc-ATAC-seq, and Spatial transcriptomic data as well as develop new computational methods to integrate these datasets.
We are looking for someone with…
- Ph.D. in Computer Science/Statistics/Biology
- Demonstrated relevant subject/discipline knowledge and knowledge and experience in relevant research techniques.
- Demonstrated competency in a range of qualitative and quantitative research tasks.
- Emerging research track record/potential to conduct quality research and contribute productively to research teams under supervision.
- Demonstrated high level organisational skills.
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
- Expertise in coding (Python/R/MetLab) and software development are encouraged to apply.
