  • Flexibility to be based at any of our four campuses located in Ballarat, Morwell, Noble Park or Shepparton
  • Full time role, fixed term for 12 months
  • Salary package full time equivalent up to $116k pa (inclusive of base salary $95K, super and salary packaging)

The Opportunity

The Berry Street School is a specialist independent school consisting of four campuses based in Ballarat, Morwell, Noble Park and Shepparton. We provide a Victorian Curriculum and VCAL program for students aged 12 to 18 years who have become disengaged from mainstream education, and deliver a trauma-informed education model.

Key Responsibilities

The Lead Teacher Teaching and Learning works closely with the Deputy Principal Teaching and Learning to adapt consistent and responsive trauma aware teaching and learning practices of The Berry Street School strategic vision as part of the core vision of the school.

The role will collaborate with the leadership and teaching team to design a staff development program that develops a robust approach to reviewing the curriculum and pedagogy and lead an improvement, innovation and change cycle to accomplish the vision and aims of the school.

About You

To be successful in the role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Teaching/Education, hold a current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration and be able to work creatively to engage our young people in their education.

You will understand of the importance of, and have the ability to, work in a team environment in this setting and an understanding of the trauma informed positive education model approach. You will have outstanding capacity for visionary and exemplary educational leadership of a school and the ability to manage multiple portfolios and administrative tasks related to curriculum.
