JOB DESCRIPTION

The Department of Education is seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to fill a full-time position working in Tara. Be part of a dynamic and innovative team working with children and schools in a family-friendly organisation with great working conditions. You will collaborate with state schools in the provision of specialised speech-language pathology services to support students with speech language communication needs to access, participate in and benefit from schooling. A comprehensive supervision and support program is provided. Experienced applicants and new graduates are encouraged to apply. The Department of Education in Darling Downs South West region is seeking an enthusiastic Speech Language Pathologist to join our dynamic educational team of therapists and teachers. In school settings you will provide services to students with speech language communication needs and support to their teachers and families.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience
  • This position may require the incumbent to operate a government vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. (Queensland ‘C” class license).
  • The incumbent is required to work throughout the service area of the position's base location.


A Mandatory Requirement Of This Role Is
  • Possession of a degree in speech pathology from a recognised tertiary institution, or other equivalent formal qualifications which, in the opinion of the Director-General, Department of Education, or delegate, are acceptable.
  • Eligibility for certified practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia.

When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
