Middle Swan Primary School (PS) are looking to employ a Teacher - Middle - Years 3-4 to join their friendly team.

Competitive applicants will be enthusiastic practitioners with both the desire and demonstrated capacity to engage students whilst ensuring their needs are effectively met, in a caring and safe environment. The applicant will work closely with all members of the school community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students by implementing effective interpersonal skills and high levels of emotional intelligence. They will be motivated, energetic, team-focussed and a student-centred teacher with qualities that promote, build and maintain professional relationships. They will possess excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work in a highly collaborative manner.

The Successful applicant will have an effective understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and support the initiatives outlined in the school’s Business Plan. They will implement agreed upon whole school practices such as Talk 4 Writing, Talk 4 Reading and explicit instruction.

Middle Swan PS supports and develops collaborative practitioners who focus on making a difference using target setting for student improvement. There is continuous focus on professional learning to better implement evidence based practices especially in the area of behaviour intervention and Literacy.

Middle Swan PS has been an Independent Public School since 2011. It is a large, well-resourced and well equipped school, catering for approximately 470 students, from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school population is drawn mainly from Stratton and the nearby suburbs of Jane Brook and Middle Swan. The school’s priorities include vocabulary, mental calculation and the social and emotional well-being of students.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
