Position Descriptor:
Ernabella Anangu School based Preschool is part of a remote Aboriginal Community' on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands. The incumbent in this position will be required to plan and deliver a quality early childhood program for 3-5 years olds inclusive of children with additional needs. As Pitjantjatjara Language and Culture are foregrounded in the learning program, the need for effective working relationships with Anangu Educators who make up the Early Years Teaching Team and members of the wider community are crucial. Our preschool has consistently high attendees of approximately 16 children with family involvement in children's learning. Planning for and documenting learning happens in reference to a strong philosophy that emphasises and responds to Anangu ways of knowing and being. Learning outcomes are met through encouraging and supporting each child to value learning and develop appropriate skills and competencies through a play-based curriculum that celebrates Pitjantjatjara language, culture and community.

To ensure employer compliance of duty of care responsibilities given the unique environment of the APY Lands, a wellness check will be conducted for any teacher nominated for this position and prior to any offer of employment.

Please note that part time and flexible arrangements will be considered.
