About the Centre/ServiceMoreland Community Child Care Centres (MCCCC) was formed in 1988 when Mitchell Street, Tinning Street and Dunstan Reserve merged. They offer a French program. Together the centres provide a 130 place children’s service. In 2021, North West Brunswick Kindergarten joined MCCCC, offering sessional 3 year old and 4 year old kindergarten, including an Italian program. DescriptionAbout the role We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and passionate Language Program Coordinator to join our team. This is a 12-month fixed term part-time (4 hours per week non-contact time) to coordinate and oversee our French and Italian language programs. There will also be additional contact teaching time dependant on your teaching and language experience, which can be negotiated. The objective of this role is to lead and be responsible for the continual development and improvement of the bilingual language program. This role is responsible for co-ordinating a learning environment that encourages the development of age-appropriate bilingual conversation, literacy skills and by extension, an appreciation of other cultures and values. This role will promote the bilingual program to families, external networks and the wider community.
- An appropriate qualification, at least a Diploma qualification, ideally Bachelor qualification
- Strong understanding of bilingual language programs in an early learning setting
- An approachable, team-oriented manner and willingness to lead by example, support and mentor educators
- Current First Aid Certificate and Working with Children Check
- Proven understanding and working knowledge of the national quality framework, EYLF, VEYLDF and National Standards
- Ability to engage with and foster strong relationships with a broad variety of stakeholders
- Ability to work successfully with a wide range of families and early childhood professionals
- Demonstrated initiative and creativity within the early childhood role
