The University of Adelaide Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 will apply to a successful candidate’s employment at the University. The University recently temporarily varied its Enterprise Agreement. Responsible for assisting the Director, CaRST on matters relating to research student training and development

The Adelaide Graduate Centre manages the administration of research student degrees, scholarships and quality activities, ensuring students have the highest quality of supervision and opportunities for professional development.

Working under general direction, the CaRST Officer assists the Director, CaRST on matters relating to research student training and development. This position coordinates a wide range of training events, manages data and systems to track and record student participation, contributes to regular reviews of student progress to ensure students are adhering to and meeting program requirements, and manages communications with students, staff, and providers and provides advice in accordance with the relevant program requirements, guidelines, and procedures. This position also provides administrative and operational support to the Director, CaRST.

The Adelaide Graduate Centre manage approximately 2,300 research students from admission to thesis examination and is responsible for the selection and administration of research scholarships. Additionally, it provides training and education for the students over a broad range of generic topics. The office is led by the Dean of Graduate Studies.

To be successful you will need:

  • Highly developed organisational and administrative skills, preferably in a higher education environment, including the ability to work effectively under pressure with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • High-level proficiency in the use of software applications (particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) together with experience in the use of a student administration and records management system.
  • Ability to evaluate, interpret, and advise on complex rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and accurately, with attention to detail.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people and cultures and deliver client centric results.
