Role Description/Criteria
Responsibilities and Duties
Tutors will be expected to:
Holding a Permission to Teach from the VIT
Being a retired teacher
Being a Pre-service teacher working under the supervision of an experienced teacher
Salary for this position is in line with the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Employer Agreement as varied from time to time. The days and hours of work will be negotiated with successful candidates.

Responsibilities and Duties
Tutors will be expected to:
- Possess excellent communication skills and have an established proficiency in their subject matter
- Develop a positive rapport with students
- Work with students in small targeted groups encouraging metacognition and conceptual understanding
- Examine data and plan targeted learning activities
- Engage and challenge student learning reflect on their own growth
- Take notes during tutoring sessions for future follow up
- Communicate with the program co-ordinator about any issue/s that require attention
- Work collaboratively and collegially
- Strong understanding of and commitment to the Catholic and Salesian ethos of the College
- Appropriate qualifications that could include:
Holding a Permission to Teach from the VIT
Being a retired teacher
Being a Pre-service teacher working under the supervision of an experienced teacher
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- ICT competence (Salesian College makes extensive use of ICT, including Learning Management systems and student laptops)
- Proven ability to work within and contribute to a team
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Child Safety legislation and responsibilities
