Casual Positions

Hourly Rate from $46.92 to $54.01 per hour

City of Ballarat Libraries is looking for enthusiastic, motivated and customer focused people to provide library services to the community in a casual position.

These position work as part of a team to deliver high quality, efficient and friendly library and learning services that meet the educational, recreational and information needs of the diverse Ballarat community.

Key Selection Criteria:
Qualifications and experience as listed in the position description.

Considerable experience in a range of IT applications and digital technologies including handheld devices

Well developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all ages

Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet organisational strategic outcomes

Demonstrated experience in providing high quality and effective learning services and programs for adults, children and young people

Knowledge of information retrieval resources and technologies with proficiency in their application to customer information needs including electronic resources and developing technologies such as wikis, blogs, social media etc.

Ability to be pro-active, and demonstrate initiative, creativity and resourcefulness in customer service, information provision and supporting management.

Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work area.
