Halls Creek District High School (DHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary (3-6) teachers for appointments to fixed term, full time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2021 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2021. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2021 school year, up to the end of Term 3, 2021.

Suitable applicants will be an enthusiastic and highly motivated educator with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Applicants will ideally have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be able to deliver content in an engaging manner. As a Primary Teacher, you will possess outstanding interpersonal skills and have an ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.

Located in the Central Kimberley Region between Broome and Kununurra, most students come from the town of Halls Creek and surrounding communities.

  • Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
  • be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
