JOB DESCRIPTION

This newly created role will work to cultivate our students’ career development through learning activities focusing on improving students’ employability by providing career and employment preparation support advice; and on-campus and virtual activities.

This position will facilitate student engagement with stakeholders, including alumni, employers, college staff and professional associations in order to enhance students’ successful transition to employment.

Key responsibilities and activities will include:

  • Supporting and assisting students with one-on-one career planner consultations, workshops and connections with students to build career profiles across their time at the College.
  • Supporting campus activities and events delivery including event set up, marketing and promotion through student social and communication platform updates.
  • Implementation and uploading of all career focused events into Eventbrite and event management channels inclusive of websites, EDM's and the subsequent monitoring of student engagement analytics.
  • Collaborating with Student Success Advisers on student risk profiles for study and career goals alignment to support persistence in their studies and success towards graduation.
  • Creating career development resources and collateral that assists students with their career planning and successful transition to employment.
  • Engaging industry and employers to identify opportunities to increase student and graduate employability within the natural health field.
  • Collaborating with the National Manager to develop the profile of the careers department with workshops, alumni social media and special projects that improve alumni to student and alumni to College connections.
This role is being offered on a permanent, part time (0.6 FTE) basis and can be located at either our Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney or Perth campuses.

About you
You are a ‘people’ person and have a people-centred communications approach, with the capacity to coordinate and present to large groups and provide quality coaching and role modelling.

Fuelled by your passion to support the best outcome and experience for students, you will draw on your interpersonal, networking and collaboration skills to cultivate productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with a view to harness support and participation in initiatives, activities and programs at the College.

Skills, experience and qualifications that will support your success in this role include:
  • A degree qualification in career development with subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Previous student support in a careers related field or industry
  • A sound understanding of career development learning in the Australian context and related issues in Higher Education support and transition to employment outcomes.
  • Demonstrated high level skills in developing, delivering and evaluating presentations.
  • Proven experience in providing assistance and advice to individuals on careers and employment related matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise and provide information advice to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including industry partnerships associations alumni mentoring and work integrated learning scholarships and programs.
  • Highly developed digital capability and experience with the capacity to acquire an understanding of new technologies and manage internal communication event rollout across a number internal and social media platforms.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload and availability to work evenings to support the implementation of student careers events and panels that may run after normal working hours.
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated experience in presenting to various audiences.
  • Strong project management skills along with the proven ability to meet deliverables on time and on budget.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously within a geographically dispersed team.
